Going Home (ARC)

Going Home (Chandler Hill Inn Series Book 1)Going Home by Judith Keim

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Home - it means something different to many people. Judith Keim has captured the sense of home in this novel. Well written plot with mystery, romance, tragedy, friendship, and family. Once one picks the book up, one will not want to put it down. I didn't want it to end and can't wait until the second in the series comes out. I am positive that anyone that begins this novel, will want to read all of Ms. Keim's stories. Excellent read and I highly recommend it.

The Season of Silver Linings by Christine Nolfi

The Season of Silver Linings (A Sweet Lake Novel Book 3)The Season of Silver Linings by Christine Nolfi

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Christine Nolfi is a master storyteller. Great story-line. This third book in the Sweet Lake series is well-written, enjoyable, hard to put down, a romance, mysteries, and of course the Sirens. One has to love the Sirens. I want to be one. I suggest one begins reading this in the morning as you cannot put it down. The reader has suspicions on what is going to happen, but there is also surprises along the way. This might be the best in the series, but hopefully there will be more down the line. I suggest one read all of Ms Nolfi's books. They are excellent reads.

A Summer of New Beginnings by Bette Lee Crosby

The Summer of New Beginnings: A Magnolia Grove NovelThe Summer of New Beginnings: A Magnolia Grove Novel by Bette Lee Crosby

The Summer of New Beginnings is Bette Lee Crosby's best work so far. The story is real, highly believable, and grabs you from the moment you begin reading and doesn't let go of the hold the words have on you long after you are finished reading. it. The plot is unique. It has sadness, joy, romance, and surprises all through the book. One needs tissues and don't start it like I did with plans to read a few pages, because you can't put it down. You will want to read it straight thru. This is a five star read in my estimation. I know that it will be in yours.

Deleting Facebook

Yesterday I decided that I had enough of Facebook.  One of my friends actually contacted my best friend to see if I was okay. Thank you, but I am fine.  It is just time to find something to do besides read all about what the rest of the world is doing while I sit here unable to do the things I want to do.  This actually is not good for my spirit.  I want to be able to run and play with my own grandchildren, not just watch everyone else get out and enjoy life.

I will be back one day.  Working on trying to get the pain to ease up.  It just won't go away.  Hopefully the doctor will find something that works to strengthen my shoulders so that holding my head up won't hurt so much.

Leave a message if you want to stay in touch.  If not, that is okay too.  Most importantly, enjoy life.  You never know when you won't be able to anymore.  We all are getting older.

Lampwork Beads

Guess what?  I sold some lampwork beads to someone other than Anita.  We went to the Holiday Craft Show sponsored by the East Ohio Lapidary Club.  Anita set up and I helped with the Chinese Auction.  Anita and one of the other club members talked me into selling some of my lampwork.  I didn't know what to charge, so instead of putting a price on each bead, I put sets into medicine cups.  The ones like the cups that come with NyQuil and cough syrups.  We decided on $10 per set.  I actually sold three sets today.  I didn't set up a table but used a small corner of Anita's.  Thank you, Anita,  I couldn't have done it without your help and encouragement.  She even made sure that people noticed them and then showed customers what she makes with my beads.  What a wonderful friend!

We are there again tomorrow.  Don't know if I will sell more, but was happy with just selling three.
